This gathering will be an explicitly Black Only space, as part of the preparation for this event, we're inviting congregations and communities, individuals and, yes, families, to do a most uncommon thing: to center Blackness in the spiritual grounding of our Unitarian Universalism. Individuals and Congregations can sponsor a Black UU or Organizer's travel and housing costs.
Sponsorship Checks can be made to Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism and sent to:
732 Holly Avenue, Saint Paul, MN 55104, or with card below.
For Churches or Congregations wishing to sponsor Black UUs and Organizers in transportation and housing cost for BLUU Revival 2018 in Kansas City
We invite you to center Blackness in the spiritual grounding of our Unitarian Universalism. You can do so here by sponsoring a Black UU or Black Organizer in experiencing revival. Funds will support attendees in need with travel expenses and housing costs in Kansas City. In lieu of expenses saved by the Regional Assembly being combined with GA in Kansas City this year, we ask that individuals consider at least $250 sponsorship to cover transportation or housing.
To give you a sense of what your sponsorship could mean for folks hoping to attend revival for the weekend, it would cost:
- One person traveling from within the MidAmerica region around $400;
- One person traveling from outside the MidAmerica region around $600;
- A family of three traveling from within the MidAmerica region from $500 to $800; and
- A family of three traveling from outside the MidAmerica region from $1,200 to $1,500.
